Tips and Tricks
How I made the map-
I drew the map free hand on poster board and cut it out. Ironed the material and applied Mod Podge with a foam brush on the material. After if was dry I traced my map onto the material, then cut it out. By applying the Mod Podge on the material first, prevents your material from fraying.

#2 High Boy Dresser

IMG_4255.PNG
IMG_4408.JPG

Tips and Tricks
On decoupaging the rice paper on the piece. You can see in this photo a little of my process. I want you to notice how I painted  white behind the rice paper so the image would be more vibrant. You can see by my error that it would have been better to paint white under the entire paper. I blended it with chalk paint. There was an area that was puckered up a little so I lightly sanded it down, and blended it with paint.
I also learned that next time I make a large frame, I will use hot glue in my mold or use Wood U Bend. The clay shrunk making cracks so I had to fill it in.

#3  Heroes Side Table

IMG_6322.JPG
IMG_E6350.JPG

This piece is not finished yet. I'm in the process of adding gold leaf.

I bought this fun little wood graining tool set at Menards. This brand was by Red Devil.
Flag tissue was purchased through Zazzle.com (Rustic Weathered American Flag)
Paint I used: Dixie Belle Rustic Red, In the Navy, Holy Guacamole and Sand Bar.

I painted "Moxie's" paw print and heart with Rust-Oleum Metallic Accents in Gold
(I drew that free hand) I sealed the piece,
In the process of applying Gold Leaf.

#4  El Toro Dresser

IMG_6779.JPG

#5  The Basewood Coffee Table

IMG_7044.JPG
IMG_E7233.JPG

This is an old Basswood tree from my childhood. I'm making coffee table out of it. Took this photo of my husband, Bob, who cut this beast of a tree down and sliced it up. However, the saw he used to slice these pieces had a chainsaw bar 8 inches longer than the one in this photo.
I will be doing a resin epoxy top with some paint and German Glass glitter..
Stay tuned...
my resin and German Glass Glitter is on order!

#6  "I Will Carry You" Side Table

IMG_E5748.JPG

I primed the piece with Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 Primer.
Painted the piece with Dixie Belle Chaulk paint in Vintage Duck Egg.
Sealed the piece with a Polyurethane sealer.

Painted the hardware with Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic
paint and primer in one spray paint in Pure Gold.

I printed the poem off the internet where there were Free Printables available, and there were many to choose from. I printed it from the public Library. (our printer is broken)
Frame I bought at Walmart.

#8 Picnic Table Project

I Used a wood filler to fill in deep cracks and craters. My grandpa made this picnic table in the 80's and it was outside year-round in the harsh Minnesota winters. I sealed it with Flex Seal in 2020. Flex Seal is a liquid rubber that fills in cracks and holes and dries to a watertight, flexible, rubberized coating. The flexible product works well with the wood as it swells and shrinks when the weather changes. It coats, seals, and protects.  The picnic table sits in our woods and this product has held up for two years.

I also slapped Flex Seal on a wood bench we have out in the woods. I took this selfie in 2020. I was doing projects during the "Shelter in Place" portion of the pandemic and keeping in touch with family and friends with a lot of these silly pictures.
Next summer I think I'm going to apply some of this product on some
wood chunks that I have throughout the woods as little tables.

Work in Progress.  Will share products soon...

#10  Rock Wall Project

IMG_E6643.JPG
IMG_0583 (1).JPG
IMG_7264.JPG

I bought 3D Wall Panels from houzz.com Grey Crude Stone Design.  It took 8 panels for this project. I used a various paints. Most of the paint I used were Rust-Oleum Metallic Accent Paints. I love Rocks and Minerals and tried to replicate them so I can enjoy them on my wall! I call this my rock wall, however, it's really a Faux Rock and Mineral wall...
too wordy...

Painted 8 Panels, Glued them to the wall with liquid nails, (still can't believe Bob let me do this to our wall) and bought this flexible trim from KofferSales.com

#11 Amazing Grace Organ

This was a piece for my daughter. I will be teaching her how to play piano. (I thought it would be a little more fun practicing scales with the added sounds of a harpsicord, violin, there's even a rumba lol) She would like us to add gold leaves.(Not Gold Leaf, Gold Leaves.) So, we will keep you updated!

IMG_E5848.JPG
IMG_E7089.JPG

The body of this piece was all wood so I scuff sanded it then after it was clean I used Dixie Belle's white cotton chalk paint on the piece and distressed it. Yes, I painted the fabric. You have to clean the fabric first then dampen it so the paint can absorb in the fabric fibers.
I spray painted the buttons. They function perfectly fine. I wanted a nice cohesive color for her pretty room.

#12 His Eye is on the Sparrow Jewelry Box

This is how the idea started. I knew I wanted to base the piece off of
Matthew 6:25-27.

Used Birdsong Moulds by IOD (Iron Orchid Designs) & Victorian Rose Redesign by Prima Moulds. I painted with various paints and tried to replicate sparrows.  (Actually, I tried to replicate both a male and female sparrow)

Filled routed out areas with Dixie Belle Mud. I printed my scripture on scrapbook paper. To thin the paper for decoupage, I burnished packing tape on the back side them peeled it off. (3-4 times) I used ModPodge to adhere and seal the paper to the piece. I painted my molds with a various paints I had on hand.

Paint for the body of the piece was:  Dixie Belle's French Linen, Tea Rose and Sawmill gravy. I conditioned the inside with Dixie Belle's Big Mama's Butta in Orange Grove and lined the inside bottom with lace. Necklace & Cross Pendant I purchased at Walmart in craft section. It needed new knobs, so I purchased these from Amazon.

#13 School Desk

IMG_5858.JPG
IMG_6348.JPG

This piece got a good cleaning then a good sanding! (Wood and metal!)
I filled the cracks in the wood with Dixie Belle's Mud wood filler and sanded after it was dry. I painted the wood with Dixie Belle's Sawmill Gravy and Spray painted the metal in Rust-Oleum's
I used Redesign with Prima Decor Mould, Victorian Rose, and used hot glue to fill the mould because I wanted some flexibility and I didn't want it to shrink. I attached it with Titebond Glue. Painted the moulds with various paints before attaching to the piece.

#14 You Are Never Alone

#15 Farmhouse Coffee Table

IMG_E4116.JPG
IMG_E6811.JPG

I sanded it down, applied Gator Hide by Dixie Belle to the table top, painted the bottom portion with white Cotton by Dixie Belle and sealed it with a Dixie Belle sealer. (Don't remember which one)
I painted the hardware with Rust-Oleum in Bronze then brushed a little Gold Mine on high points.

Tips and Tricks
How I clean the hardware-
I soak the hardware overnight in vinegar water.
1:1 ration of water to vinegar.
Then I brush the hardware clean with an old toothbrush.
I don't soak the screws overnight.
*Never use vinegar on granite, marble,
natural stone, cast iron, aluminum, waxed
or unfinished wood.

IMG_6526.JPG

This piece was cleaned, stripped and sanded.
I Primed with Zinsser BIN Primer from Menards. It is a stain and odor blocker. I had and area with some bleed through, so on that area I used Dixie Belle Boss. (Blocks Odors, Stains, and stops bleed through)
Paint: Pittsburgh Grand Distinction in Orange Poppy from Menards and
Pure Gold Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint and Primer in One for the hardware.
Gold leaf - I will be adding... (need to order more.)
We are going to place a shelf in the bottom of one, The other does have a drawer..

#21 Water Baptism - Jesus Wall Decor

IMG_7096.JPG

Yes, I enjoy thrift store shopping! I like repurposing, bargain basement prices and the places I frequent, the funds go to great causes.
This frame was a thrift store find.
I just had to fill the gaps where the wood separated and swap out the picture.
I also conditioned the wood.

I filled the gaps with Dixie Belle Mud for my wood filler then painted it with Dixie Belle Sawmill Gravy.
I conditioned the wood with Dixie Belle's Big Mama's Butta in Orange Grove. It enhances wood grain, deodorizes, rejuvenates & protects the wood and smells amazing!

#22 Revival Cabinet

IMG_0758.JPG
IMG_6825.JPG
IMG_6824.JPG
IMG_7263.JPG

I placed peel & stick over the glass, glued the ceiling tiles on, then painted the crest.
I need to add trim and give it an overall light sanding and stain.

My work in progress

Ceiling Tiles I order through decorativeceilingtiles.net. This one is a Faux Tin Ceiling Tile 24"x24" #DCT07 made of PVC material.
On the crest I brushed Rust-0leum Metallics Accent paint in bronze,  Painted the flames with yellow & orange craft paint then Rust-0leum Metallics Accent in copper penny. Fleur-de-lis was painted in black craft paint.
I believe I'm stopping there with painting the crest. I want the REVIVAL FLAMES
to stand out!
I have to add two pieces of trim to fill in the gaps and give the piece a light sand and an overall stain.

#23 Bald Eagle Lamp

Thrift store lamp I picked up for $5!
Loved the Eagle and he looked to be perched somewhere on the White House. I had to have him! Toby Mac's "Love Broke thru" came to my mind.
I primed the body of the piece then painted it with Dixie Belle Chalk paint in the color Fluff. I gave it an aged look with Dixie Belle's Voodoo gel stain in Tobacco Road.
The painted the eagle in Rust-Oleum metallic accents in Rich Brown then hit it with highlights with Bronze in by the same brand.
